Description
Fern was an accidental acquisition! Left behind at the end of an auction – noone wanted her as she was in such a dishevelled state.
We managed to save the original stuffing (cleaned!) and re-upholstered with a hand printed velvet – the pattern is unique and unrepeatable and made to fit the shape of the chair.
The cotton velvet has a warm two-tone effect running from black through to pinks and reddish browns and is figured with ferns, horsetail and other woodland foliage.
We believe Fern is an early Victorian nursing chair and we can see her gracing a bedroom or hallway as a show-stopping occasional chair.
